As of mid April 2026, the government is expanding the free ETA pilot from seven nations to forty. This list includes the US, UK, Australia, and most EU member states. The goal is to stimulate arrivals through March 2027. Please ensure you still apply through the official gov.lk portal to receive the fee waiver. Note that the QR coded approval is required before you board your flight.
