The Rock produces heavy spray, especially when the offshore wind kicks in around midday. If you fly lower than 30 feet, your lens will be coated in salt instantly, ruining the shot. Also, do NOT hover directly over the lineup. The buzzing sound echoes off the water and deeply annoys the surfers trying to hear the sets coming in. Fly high and use zoom.

Launch from the grass near the road, not the sand. Getting sand in your drone motors at Kabalana is a guaranteed way to ruin it.

If you fly too close, some angry locals have been known to throw chunks of wax or even splash water up to hit low-flying drones.
