To take the public bus from Colombo to Kandy, head to the Bastian Mawatha Bus Station in Pettah. Look for the route 1 luxury air conditioned intercity buses. They depart very frequently, offer guaranteed seating, and the ticket costs only a few dollars for the four hour journey.
