Someone is flying a drone over the elephants despite the ban - who do we even tell

Quadcopter, lights on, hovering over the tusker line on Dalada. Half the crowd is pointing. I thought drones were a no over Perahera. Do we tell an officer or is that an official Media Bureau one and we look like idiots. Not ours. Mini 4 energy.

Tell the nearest officer, calmly, without becoming the story. The Media Bureau manages drone permits for accredited coverage. A random Mini 4 over a packed religious procession is not that. CAASL rules also restrict operations over people. 2025 they published a full route prohibition; I have not seen a fresh 2026 gazette tonight, but "permit-only, not over the crowd" is the live reality.

Men approach tourists near Temple of the Tooth offering to be guides. After the tour, they demand large "donations" or guide fees (5000-10000 LKR).
